Polyalphaolefins from Neste Oil

The Nexbase™ 2000 series polyalphaolefins are synthetic base fluids produced by oligomerizing alpha olefins.

Mineral oils consist of thousands of different compounds, many of which are undesirable in a lubricating system.  Under moderate to high temperatures these compounds can volatilise and oxidise, even with the addition of oxidation inhibitors. 

Formulated polyalphaolefins, on the contrary, can be used over a wide range of temperatures, demonstrating low volatility and high stability, remaining fluid at lower temperatures and providing a sufficiently thick lubricating film at high temperatures.

Polyalphaolefins offer formulators a tool to improve or extend their product lines.
