Blending Capabilities UK

Within the UK, Multisol has bulk storage facilities for 2,000,000 litres of solvents at our Irlam, Greater Manchester site; in addition to a further 450,000 litres of viscous material storage.

Extensive investment has been put into the UK Operations over the past few years to provide bespoke equipment for specialised blending and toll manufacture.  At the Manchester site this also includes reverse osmosis capabilities for producing one of the purest sources of water in the country; particularly suited to ultra low metal contents for sensitive aqueous blends.

Blending capacity

The Manchester site can blend between 300 litres and 40,000 litres using a variety of vessels and tanks.

Bulk storage tank capacity ranges between 45,000 litres down to 2,500 litre tanks by utilising 37 fixed bulk tanks.

Blending facilities

The contract packing plant contains all of the following vessels with ATEX agitator systems:

• 4,000 litre mild steel
• 2,400 litre mild steel
• 10,000 litre stainless steel
• 2 x 12,000 litre stainless steel
• 3,500 litre open vessel with high shear mixer

We can also blend in IBC's using an ATEX pump system.

Filling and Packing

All manufacturing vessels are linked to automatic filling equipment, so we are able to pack virtually any size of container.  All are minimum of semi-automatic, and Zone 1 Approved:

• 1,000 litre IBC filling machine
• 25 litre Panto filling machine
• 4-Head filling machine for 1 to 5 litre containers
• Twin Head Karmelle machines for 1 to 5 litre containers
• 205 litre semi-automatic filling line

In addition to this, we also have a range of tested and calibrated pump / mechanical meters which will allow us to fill containers as required to maintain our flexibility during long production runs.

Irlam’s on-site laboratory assures product quality during all manufacturing and blending processes.
